Probe Temperature Sensor

The duct sensor is used to measure the supply and return air temperature in HVAC system. There are several sensor elements to choose from which guarantee compatibility with all popular DDC systems. There is a precision thermistor. The probes are epoxy sealed to prevent moisture from migrating into the probe. Field calibration is not generally required. The standard probe length is 12 inch. This sensor is used to measure water temperature of heated or chilled water and other liquids found in the various mechanical systems of building. The sensor is especially intended for strapping to the outside of a pipe when there is no opportunity to install a well such as in a  retrofit or additions to an existing system.The strap on probe is useful in applications such as monitoring batteries, transformers, generators, and generally any place where a complete assembly can not be mounted,Ice rink slabs and soil temperature are other applications.

The sensor is called an immersion type where the sensor is mounted in a brass or stainless steel thermowell which allows the probe to be removed from the pipe without draining the system and protects the probe.There are four thermistor based models, and one RTD version to provide compatibility with the majority of DDC systems.

These thermowells are designed for mounting temperature sensors in pipes and tanks.The thermowells are designed to handle this stress while providing good thermal contact with the fluid.They also provide isolation, if the sensor needs to be serviced the system can remain in operation without having to drain the lines. The thermowells are machined from a single piece of bar stock, there are no welds as found on competing products.
